The idea of a Joe Rogan debate first originated with the comedian himself on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience (via CNN). He offered his services and even his own set of rules: There would be no crowd in attendance, no editing whatsoever, and he “would want them in there for hours.” And after viewers witnessed the first presidential debate, the idea resurfaced as the nation looked for a savior. “Please Joe we need you,” lamented one fan on Twitter. Another tweeted: “[Joe] would do so much better.” However, one Rogan fan was concerned for the comedian’s reputation: “He would be embarrassed up there,” they tweeted.
To round out the strangeness, when the idea first surfaced, one of the contenders for the Oval Office was actually into it. After one of Rogan’s podcast guests tweeted, “Who wants this?”, he got a response from none other than President Trump himself, who answered, “I do!” via Twitter. So, maybe it could still happen.

So who would do a better job as moderator? It seems the American people have spoken — and they’re calling for none other than podcast host, MMA commentator, and celebrity comedian Joe Rogan (via The Hill). In fact, a recent Hill-HarrisX poll found that 69 percent of registered voters report being very or somewhat likely to watch such a debate event if it were to happen.
